2019 was the year I hit rock bottom. I was a single mom of three, working multiple jobs just to keep food on the table. I remember one morning, rushing to a meeting after dropping the kids off at school, my old bag gave out—zipper broken, everything spilling onto the sidewalk. I stood there, tears in my eyes, thinking,‘I can’t keep doing this.’That bag was a reflection of my life—falling apart, barely holding together. It was in that moment I realized I needed something better—not just for my bag, but for my life. I didn’t know it yet, but that was the seed of Elena’s Bags.
When the pandemic hit in 2020, everything stopped. I was stuck at home, homeschooling the kids, and feeling completely lost. But during those quiet moments, I found myself sketching—designing the bag I’d always needed but could never find. I wanted something beautiful, practical, and durable—a bag that could handle the chaos of life. With nothing to lose, I started sewing prototypes at my kitchen table. It wasn’t easy, but for the first time in years, I felt alive. That’s when I knew: this wasn’t just a bag. It was my purpose.
2025 was the year everything came full circle. After years of hard work, late nights, and countless prototypes, I opened the first Elena’s Bags store. Standing there, surrounded by my team and my kids, I felt this overwhelming sense of pride—not just for the brand, but for how far I’d come. That little idea I had during quarantine, born out of struggle and hope, was now a reality. And the best part? Knowing that every bag we sell helps another single mom get back on her feet. This isn’t just a store—it’s a dream realized, for me and for all the women who carry their lives with strength and grace.
